The ocotillo, with its sharp thorns and brilliant red flowers, represents the beauty, resilience, tenacity, and strength of the community.

Without its deep roots, the ocotillo would not be able to survive in its harsh environment, where after the summer rains, its leaves turn a brilliant green.
